Meet Cach: A Story of Faith, Friendship, & Calling

During the Jacksons’ time in Honduras, one of the most meaningful relationships they formed was with a young man named Yester, affectionately known as Cach.

From the very beginning, they saw something special in him—his maturity, strong work ethic, kind heart, and an evident hunger to know God more deeply.

  • Cach grew up carrying the weight of his family on his shoulders. His father lived with another family for most of his life, leaving Cach to care for his two younger siblings, his mother, grandmother, and others in their home from the time he was a teenager. Despite difficult circumstances, he consistently worked two or three jobs at a time—supporting his family while putting himself through school.

In the midst of deep poverty and hardship, Cach stood out. While many men in his community of Travesía walked away from their families, Cach remained faithful, providing for his and setting an example of integrity and perseverance.

  • Carter and Cach quickly developed a deep friendship. They spent countless hours talking about faith, purpose, and the future. During some of Carter’s hardest days overseas, Cach was a steady encouragement and a reminder of why the Jacksons were in Honduras in the first place.

Travesía is a community deeply marked by brokenness—violence, immorality, and a lack of godly male leadership. Yet in 2023, Cach did something rare and redemptive: he got married. His wife, Joeli, is a wonderful woman of faith, and together they now have a young son, Noah.

Carter was honored to return to Honduras to celebrate their wedding and witness firsthand how God’s Spirit is at work in Cach’s life.

  • Recently, Cach sensed a clear call from God to pursue vocational ministry. He is exactly the kind of man God can use to bring lasting change to his community and the broader Garifuna people. Carter promised him long ago that wherever God led, he would support him in that journey.

Now, that promise is becoming reality. Cach has been accepted into the Seminary for Expository Preaching (SEPE) in Siguatepeque, Honduras—a ministry dedicated to equipping Spanish-speaking pastors and leaders with high-quality biblical and theological training. He will begin classes in January 2026.

How You Can Help

The seminary program lasts four years, with eight intensive 10-day modules each year. During those times, Cach must travel to Siguatepeque and pause his regular work to focus fully on study.

His wife, Joeli, will stay home with Noé and work part-time to help support their family. The Jacksons are raising funds to sponsor Cach’s seminary education, allowing him to study and serve without worrying about his family’s needs back home. He receives no financial support from his relatives—your partnership can make a life-changing difference.
